Ohio Landlord Rules is an independent informational website for small Ohio landlords, starting with Columbus. It explains local registration rules, the eviction process, the 3-day notice and security deposits in plain English.

What it is not

This site is not a law firm. Nothing here is legal advice, and reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship. For a specific situation, talk to an Ohio attorney.

How the guides are written

• Statute text comes from codes.ohio.gov. City rules come from the city's own code, ordinance or web pages. Court costs and procedures come from the court clerk's documents.
• Each guide shows a "Last checked" date and lists every source URL.
• If a figure could not be confirmed in an official source, the guide leaves it out and says so.

Corrections

Laws, fees and forms change. If you see an out-of-date figure, check the linked source first, since the source is the final word. This site does not publish a contact form or phone number today.
